Kate's Blog

Follow me if you will as I try to navigate through the ups and downs of my world.

I'm writing this blog to help me make sense of all that has happened - from my diagnosis with non-Hodgkins lymphoma while pregnant with my third child in May 2008
, through to my reflections on chaotic family life as I try to pick up the pieces of my life again.

The kids are so small, and I'm working hard to keep us all safe and to stay in remission.

Stay with me - it won't be all doom and gloom I promise!

Lost Follower

Well - I lost a follower after the last post.

???

I'll try not to take it personally.

But sometimes I can't sugar-coat how I feel. Sometimes I don't want to. This blog is my personal chronicle as well as something which other people can choose to read or not. I love the support I get from readers - and I feel real connection with some. I guess at times my writing is a bit brutal, but it's honest. I don't always feel brave, noble or even nice about what's happened to me. And I always feel weary.

And I do post about other stuff too for heaven's sake.

Do you think someone would un-follow because you went on a little rant. I un-follow when I realize, I just never make the time to read that blog.

Hey, I lost 4 followers this past week. And yeah, in a way it bothered me a little. But hey, the blog is about YOU, and what YOU want to write about. If you start writing thinking about the people that you might offend, or whatever...then it really isn't YOUR blog, is it?

Rant, baby. Rant.
:-)

Losing followers is not always a blow to your blog. Sometimes it happens if someone cancels their Google account. Don't take it personally! :)

I just read your last post and I don't think there is anything wrong with what you said. You expressed anger and frustration, emotions that we all have.

Cancer and its after effects seem like a valid reason to get really mad sometimes.

All of the above, and: if they did stop following you because of your last rant, it could be that they are not in a place in their own lives where they can handle anyone else's troubles. I've been in that place and can't read certain books or watch certain movies at times. I'll be here for you tomorrow and tomorrow, Kate. xo

Unfollowing's a sad fact of life on here. Try not to let it worry you. :)

Don't take it personally. Maybe they just haven't time to follow as many, or, as someone said, they cancelled their google account. It's a vehicle for you to outpour your emotions at a very difficult time so just carry on and be yourself. Perhaps today you will have new followers!

Did they write to you about this or is it a surmise on your part.
Me, I tend to the Occam's razor or my version of it anyway. when you hear hooves think Asses not Horses or Zebras, and where blogger is concerned this is truer than normal.

Yes - you're all right. What a baby I am. It's a free cyber-world out there.
