Kate's Blog

Follow me if you will as I try to navigate through the ups and downs of my world.

I'm writing this blog to help me make sense of all that has happened - from my diagnosis with non-Hodgkins lymphoma while pregnant with my third child in May 2008
, through to my reflections on chaotic family life as I try to pick up the pieces of my life again.

The kids are so small, and I'm working hard to keep us all safe and to stay in remission.

Stay with me - it won't be all doom and gloom I promise!

This Week

Yesterday I was 41.

This morning I went to the gym in an attempt to ward off the advancing years.

Now I'm very very tired and want to eat biscuits while reading 'Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantel which is amazingly, wonderfully brilliant by the way.

Or, snuggle down like the baby every afternoon and SLEEP!

Ok, great choice of book... but what kind of biscuits are you eating?

Well, I'm trying not to eat any biscuits in order to maximise the gym effect! But I may weaken and find a Fig Roll or two hanging around in the cupboard!

both options sound perfect. Loved the book!

Hope you had a great birthday - I think you should enjoy a few more biscuits as a continuation of the celebrations! Make a week of it.

The desire for biscuits usually means a deep-seated desire for protein (so a spoonful of peanut butter covered in chocolate chips should do the trick, or a nice bit of cheese with some fruit :). As for a desire to read a good book - why not snuggle down like the baby, read a chapter and THEN sleep. Sleep enhances the effects of exercise, ya know! Sounds productive to me (and awfully familiar). I hope you had a super birthday!!!!

Exercising AND reading. WOW. And you act as if you are so unproductive. :)

@Rebecca; I did not know that about a sweet craving. Where has this info been all my life. PB and chocolate chips. Sounds like my next favorite pregnant snack!!! Blogs are so informative.

Tracey: And one of my favourite pregnant snacks too, back in the day. (I used to be a bit obsessive about health and diet and all that stuff.)
